Hilo Core includes two different ways of capturing information:
The Hilo Cuff, which takes a measurement at a specific moment (similar to a traditional cuff)
The Hilo Core Band, which collects data over time to show patterns and trends
Because these approaches are different, the values you see may not always match.
1. Long term trends vs. single measurements
The Hilo Core Band summarizes your data over time, while a cuff-based measurement reflects a single moment.
Since your blood pressure naturally changes throughout the day, a single reading may differ from a value based on multiple measurements.
2. Natural changes throughout the day
Your readings can vary depending on factors such as:
Stress or emotions
Meals, caffeine, or alcohol
Time of day
These normal variations can lead to differences between readings taken at different times.
3. Measurement conditions
Readings can also vary depending on how and when they are taken.
For example:
Body position
Arm position
Movement or talking during a measurement
Following the in-app guidance can help you get more consistent results.
Important
The Hilo Cuff is intended for taking individual measurements at a specific moment (point-in-time reference)
The Hilo Core Band is designed to help you understand trends and changes over time
These two views are complementary and are not intended to be compared directly.
